Alan J. Kraus
, 65, of 573 West Main Street Ext., Kersey, died at his residence on Thursday, February 17, 2011, following a brief illness.
He was born April 24, 1945 in St. Marys, a son of the late Norman J. and Lillian Blanchard Kraus.
On May 11, 1974 in St. Marys, he married Harriet Hollobaugh Kraus, who survives.
Mr. Kraus was a member of the Kersey Eagles. He enjoyed watching television, especially wrestling and sports. He also enjoyed Sodoku puzzles and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of 36 years, Harriet Hollobaugh Kraus, he is survived by:
Daughter: Tammie, Mrs. Frank Kuppelwiser, St. Marys
Daughter: Kimberly, Mrs. Jude Fritz, St. Marys
Son: Richard "Rich" Kraus and his wife Chrissy, Florida
Step-daughter: Christine, Mrs. Steve Keech, Kersey
9 Grandchildren
Sister: Marlene Weber, St. Marys
Sister: Dale, Mrs. Joseph Floravit, St. Marys
Brother: Norman "Jack" Kraus, Jr., St. Marys
Brother: James Kraus, St. Marys
Numerous: Nieces and Nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Earl and Kenneth Kraus.
There will be No Visitation.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Alan Kraus will be held on Saturday, March 5, at 10 AM at St. Boniface Church, Main Street, Kersey. A funeral luncheon will follow at the Kersey Fireman's.
Burial will be in the Mountain Cemetery in Brockport.
