Anna M. Laird

Anna M. Laird , 94, of 610 South Michael Road, St. Marys, died on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk following a short illness.

She was born on July 27, 1920, a daughter of the late Michael and Helena Bizjak Ausserer.

On January 29, 1949 in St. Marys Church, she married Robert T. Laird, who preceded her in death on December 22, 2003.

Mrs. Laird was a member of the Queen of the World Church.  She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting.  She was very fond of her 2 cats, Ginger and Snowball.  Anna was very proud of her heritage, and she greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren..

She is survived by 3 daughters, Mary (Thomas) Squires, of St. Marys, Virginia "Ginny" (Alan) Schneider of St. Marys, Rose Ann (John) Youngmark of DuBois, a son, Robert (Jane) Laird, of Emporium, and by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by 2 sisters, Betty Fleming and Alice Schloder, both of St. Marys, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sons, Patrick Laird in 1970, Frederick Laird in 1993 and Timothy Laird in 2013.  She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph and Leonard Ausserer, 2 sisters, Helen Krug and Marie Stubber and by 2 brothers and a sister in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna M. Laird will be celebrated on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 12:00 PM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA with Rev, RIchard Allen, Pastor, officiating and Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, as concelebrant.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
