Anna Stanish, 101, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys and formerly of 706 Lincoln Avenue, died at Elk Regional Health Center on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 16, 1909 in Donaueschingen, Germany, a daughter of the late Milan and Sophie Rothmund Geci.
On September 27, 1923 in Sacred Heart Church, she married the late Max Stanish.
Mrs. Stanish was a resident of St. Marys since 1922, after coming from Germany through Ellis Island at the age of 13. She
was a member of Sacred Heart Church and years ago worked at Sylvania in Emporium and also at Stackpole Carbon
Company. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting and crocheting.
Most of all, she enjoyed taking care of her home and spending time with her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 325 Center Street, St. Marys, on
Friday, December 3, 2010 at 9:30 AM
with Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., as Celebrant.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on
Thursday evening from 5-8 PM
.
Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
