Arlene M. Samick

Arlene M. Samick , 81, a resident of Pinecrest Manor, and formerly of 1220 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, died on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Pinecrest Manor following a brief illness.

She was born on May 26, 1932, a daughter of the late Conrad and Caroline Wilhelm Greenthaner.

On October 17, 1959 in Sacred Heart Church, she married William J. Samick, who preceded her in death on December 22, 2005.

Arlene was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Central High School, class of 1950.  She was a member of the St. Marys Church.  She enjoyed Bingo and trips to Salamanca.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly, Mrs. Richard Fox of St. Marys and 3 grandchildren; Brandon Fox of Pittsburgh, Rachel Fox and Devin Fox, both of St. Marys.  She is also survived by 2 sisters, Helen (Joseph "Buzzy")Herbstritt of St. Marys and Jean, Mrs. Ralph DeLullo of Williamsport.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Breindel.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Arlene M. Samick will be celebrated on Friday, May 23, 2014, at 10:00 AM at  the St. Marys Church, Church St., St. Marys with Fr, Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
