Audrey M. Schaut

Audrey M. Schaut , 79, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Hemlock Road, St. Marys, died on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 following a lengthy illness.

She was born on February 19, 1942, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Ida Glatt Haberberger.

On December 28, 1963 in St. Marys Church, she married the late David L. Schaut, who preceded her in death on February 18, 1997.

Audrey was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1960, and was a member of Queen of the World Church.  She worked for several years at the Gift & Art, and then retired after many years as a secretary for the Law Office of Mark Jacob.  Audrey was an avid animal lover, especially her dogs.  Over the years, she enjoyed sewing and dancing with her husband.  Most of all, she loved homemaking and her family.

She is survived by three sons; Duane "Dewey" Schaut and his wife Rose, Mark Schaut, and Glenn Schaut and his wife Jennifer, all of St. Marys.  She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and by one brother; Donald (Diane) Haberberger of St. Marys.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Vincent Haberberger and Wilfred Haberberger, Jr and by a sister-in-law; Marlene Haberberger.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Audrey M. Schaut will be celebrated on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held privately with the family at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Elk Haven Nursing Home Activities Fund or the Elk County Humane Society.
