Betty J. Dahlin

Betty J. Dahlin , 86, of Emporium, and a resident of Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys for the past two years, died on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Penn Highlands Elk surrounded by her loving family. Formerly of Revloc, she was born on January 2, 1930, in Cambria county, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Frieko Dow.

On June 25, 1966 in Winchester, VA, she married Carl "Peaches" Dahlin, who survives.

BJ was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Ebensburg and was a former Democratic Committee chairperson in Cambria County. Years ago, she was a switchboard operator for the Bell Telephone Company during the 1940's. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband of nearly 50 years, Carl "Peaches" Dahlin, she is survived by two daughters, Carla (Paul) Lloyd of New Oxford, PA and Connie (Brian) Shedlock of Toms River, NJ, four grandchildren, Nathan (Nicole) Shedlock, Nicholas Shedlock, Bradley Lloyd and Katie Lloyd. She is also survived by two brothers, George Dow and Richard (Therese) Dow, both of Ebensburg,

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray "Toot" Miller and by a son, Barry Lee Miller.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.

Funeral and committal services will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
