Beverly A. Rhines

Beverly A. "Beve" Rhines , 82, formerly of Elk Towers and 110 Lecker Road, St. Marys, died on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

Born on September 22, 1939 at the family homestead on E. Eschbach Road, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Cashmere Bankovic.

In Queen of the World Church, she married the late Cloy O. Rhines, who preceded her in death on January 14, 2015.

Beve was a lifelong resident of the area and member of Sacred Heart Church. Over the years, she had been employed at Stackpole, Sylvania, and for the Community Nurses.  There was nothing she loved more than the moon and stars, which she watched nightly.  She also enjoyed the outdoors, always taking in the scenery and sounds of the forest and a nice walk in the woods.  She enjoyed her cats and was particularly fond of horses, and could often be found sharing a treat with the neighborhood horses.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, and cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two children; Diana Spangler and her husband Doug and Ralph "Chew" Rhines, both of St. Marys, by two grandchildren; Melissa (Brian) Stahli and Jesse Rhines, and by three great-grandchildren; Kendra, Brady, and Aubree.  She is also survived by a sister; Dolly Leary of Salamanca as well as by several nieces and nephews and by 4 sisters-in-law; Mary Lee Bankovic, Evelyn Parrett, Jean Rhines and Helen Rhines.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her precious grandson; Jamey Spangler, who preceded her in death on April 10, 1998, and by two brothers; Thomas Bankovic and Richard Bankovic.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Beverly A. Rhines will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Thomas Curry, OSB, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received at Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, October 36, 2021 from 11:30 AM until the time of the Mass.
