Carl G. Lecker
, 56, of 160 Averyville Road, St. Marys, died on Saturday evening, February 12, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
He was born September 4, 1954 in St. Marys, a son of the late Albert J. and Naomi Halpin Lecker.
On November 26, 1977 in St. Marys Church, he married Stephanie Eckert Lecker, who survives.
Carl was a graduate of ECCHS, class of 1972. He served in the US Army from 1972-1976 and had been a member of the American Legion. He was an avid Steelers fan and also enjoyed the Pittsburgh Penguins. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his pets and was a member of the St. Marys Church.
In addition to his wife of 33 years, Stephanie Eckert Lecker, he is survived by:
Daughter: Mandy Lecker and her companion Tim Pohorence, Erie
Daughter: Jennie Lecker, St. Marys
Brother: David Lecker and his wife Judy, Washington
Sister: Mary Kay, Mrs. George Kim, Georgia
Goddaughter: Morgan Williamson of St Marys
Numerous: Nieces and Nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Lecker in 2010.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Carl G. Lecker will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street, St. Marys, on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Meinrad Lawson, O.S.B., as Celebrant.
A Military Service will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch- Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael Street, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
