Chanel Farrah Wolfel , 26, of Kersey, passed away at her residence on Thursday, April 21st, 2022. She was born September 21st, 1995 in DuBois, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Lisa Secco Harvey and Michael Wolfel.
Chanel spent the last year of her life proudly achieving and exceeding her goals. She and her family reveled in the miraculous improvements that Chanel made in every aspect of her life. She battled her way through addiction, mended relationships with loved ones and was reliable, hardworking, and responsible. Chanel learned new skills, recently earned her driver’s license, went out of her way to be helpful and continually took on new responsibilities. She sought to be someone that people would feel comfortable talking to and sharing their struggles with. Chanel wanted to inspire those around her to be the best version of themselves and would always find a way to insert a compliment along the way.
Chanel was fascinated by astrology, numerology and tarot and could often be found providing insight and clarity to her friends and loved ones through her readings and research. Chanel was a Virgo, which was evident by her kindness. She was a truly gentle soul. Chanel was also creative and expressed herself through art and writing. Chanel graduated from St. Marys Area High School in 2014. During the past six months, Chanel dedicated herself to her work at Slip On Appeal, where she was learning how to run the business alongside her Mom, Lisa. Previously, Chanel was an employee at Wendy’s and various Taco Bells, where she earned recognition as Employee of the Month and made many friends in both Pennsylvania and Florida. Chanel loved music, painting, stand-up comedy, concerts, visiting aquariums, bunnies, and her cat Carrots. Chanel will be remembered for her quirky personality, unique sense of style, contagious laugh, and huge heart.
Chanel made amazing strides to better herself, and the past year of her life is a true reflection of that, which is worthy of celebrating. A single misstep following a full year of sobriety was all it took to cut Chanel’s beautiful life short. She faltered at the end, but addiction does not define her or her life. We are proud of the woman she was and will forever mourn the amazing possibilities that could have been.
