Charlotte "Char" A. Vollmer

Charlotte A. "Char" Vollmer , 79, of Bucktail Road, St. Marys, died on Thursday, August 18, 2022, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 7, 1942, a daughter of the late Charles and Loretta Nissell Schatz.

On June 30, 1962, she married Alvin II "Doodge" Vollmer.  Together they shared more than 60 years of love, laughter, and happiness.
Char was a member of the Queen of the World Church and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.  She retired from Powdered Metal Products after many years of service.  Char enjoyed going to camp and also enjoyed sitting on the porch admiring her flowers.  For the past ten years, Char volunteered at the Elk Visitors Center, helping with the horse drawn wagon rides, something that she really loved doing.  Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter; Carla (Tom) Wehler of Benezette, two sons; Alvin III (Mary Lee) Vollmer, Dave (Kerry) Vollmer, both of St. Marys and by four granchildren; Alvin IV "Cooner" ( Allison) Vollmer, Jo Vollmer, TJ (Kate) Wehler, and Erica Wehler, one great grandaughter; Freya Wehler.  She is also survived by a brother, Marvin (Marilyn) Schatz, by two sisters; Beverly Erich and Kathleen "Gil" Rowley, all of St. Marys as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Char was preceded in death by two brothers; Milton Schatz and Charles "Merle" Schatz, and by four sisters; Thailia Huffner, Marlene Pichler, Barbara Martini, and Christine Schatz.

Services for Charlotte A. Vollmer are being held privately and at the convenience of the family.
