Christine J. Burkhouse

Christine J. Burkhouse , 67, a resident of Elk Towers and formerly of E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, died on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at UPMC Hamot following a lengthy illness.

She was born on February 28, 1951, in St. Marys, a daughter of John and Mary Jo Leuschel Herbstritt.

On September 5, 1970, in Queen of the World Church, she married Alan D. Burkhouse, who preceded her in in death on October 8, 1999.

Christine was a graduate of St. Marys Area Schools and was a member of St. Marys Church.  She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society at Queen of the World and St. Marys Churches.  She enjoyed swimming and going to camp, and hunting and fishing with her father.

She is survived by two daughters, Heather Vollmer and her husband Jim of St. Marys and Ann Marie (Ricky Rantz, Jr.) Olewinski of Withams, VA, by 5 grandchildren, Brandy, Emily, Alex, Austin, and Christine, by one great-grandson, Alan, and by her longtime companion, Gary Green of Johnsonburg.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jimmy Vollmer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Christine J. Burkhouse will be celebrated on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Marys American Legion or to the St. Marys Church.
