Delores M. Smithbauer
, 98, of Pinecrest Manor, and formerly of 227 John Street, St. Marys, died at Pinecrest Manor on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 following a lengthy illess.
She was born October 27, 1914 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Clara Young Neubert.
On April 4, 1964 in St. Marys Church, she married the late Marvin "Mike" Smithbauer, who preceded her in death on August 24, 2011.
Mrs. Smithbauer was a member of St. Marys Church and lived in St. Marys all her life. She was educated in the St. Marys Catholic School System. In her younger years, she worked as a waitress at several fraternal organizations, Sylvania in Emporium, Speer Resistors and retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after more than 24 years of service. She was very gifted in arts and crafts and enjoyed giving much of her work to friends and relatives. She was a kind, considerate and gentle woman who enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She had also enjoyed traveling with her husband and visiting Erie, Atlantic City and other casino's in the area. She was also a member of the Elks Club.

In addition to her parents and her husband of more than 47 years, Marvin "Mike" Smithbauer, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law; Betty and Elden Lewis, 2 sisters; Rita Mae Wolfe and Norma Woodward, 4 brothers; James, Leroy, Charles and Michael Neubert and her first husband, Thomas Renwick.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Delores M. Smithbauer will be Celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street, St. Marys, on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Thomas More Sikora, O.S.B., as Celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, on Thursday evening from 5-8 PM.
