Dennis P. Andres, Sr. , 73, of 163 W. Theresia Road, St. Marys, died at his home on Sunday, January 3, 2021 surrounded by his family following a short illness.
He was born on June 22, 1947, a son of the late Roger A. and Dorothy P. Muth Andres.
On August 10, 1968 in Queen of the World Church, he married Charlene Erich Andres, who survives of St. Marys.
Denny was a graduate of St. Marys High School, class of 1965 and was a member of Queen of the World Church. He had owned Seel Tool and Die for many years, and continued his work there until recently. He was a member of the Fox Township Sportsmens, the St. Marys Trap and Skeet League, the Luthersburg Shooting League, and the Bradford Rod and Gun Club. He was also a life member of the Campowners as well as the NRA, the National Wild Turkey Federation, and Pheasants Forever.
An avid outdoorsman, Denny could often be found shooting trap, skeet, and sporting clays. He treasured the friendships he'd made over the years in the various leagues he was involved in. He never turned down the chance to go hunting with his grandchildren, and always enjoyed the time he spent with them in the woods. Over the years, he participated in the St. Marys High School Alumni football game, and always had fun getting on the field with his friends. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent at his camp and with his family,
In addition to his Wife of more than 52 years, Charlene Erich Andres, he is survived by four children; Dennis Andres, Jr. and his wife Heather of Hazen, Timothy Andres and his wife Jody of St. Marys, Melissa "Missy" VanSlander and her husband Timothy of St. Marys, and Michelle "Shelly" Maletto and her husband James of Johnsonburg. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; David, Jamie, Brittany, Bobby, Zac, Candace, Rachael, Trevor, Piper, Rachel, and Kyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services for Dennis P. Andres will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffery Noble, officiating.
Family and friends will be received at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
