Dennis C. Mertz

Dennis C. Mertz , 55, of 558 Brusselles Street, St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at his home.

He was born on September 30, 1959, a son of the late Walter Mertz and Anna Mae Wilson Mertz, who survives of St. Marys.

On March 14, 1987 in Queen of the World Church, he married Lynn Mosier Mertz, who survives.

Denny was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from SMAHS, class of 1977.   He worked at Keystone for more than 26 years, and had been employed at Morgan AM & T for the past several years.  He was an avid golfer and bowler, and also greatly enjoyed sports.

In addition to his wife of more than 27 years, Lynn Mosier Mertz, he is survived by a daughter, Whitney Mertz of St. Marys; a step-son, Rick (Juliana) Snelick of Edinboro; 3 brothers, David (Kathy) Mertz, Gary (Mary) Mertz,  and Thomas Mertz and by 2 sisters; Gloria (Edward) Nussbaum and Amy (Gary) Walker, all of St. Marys.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and was expecting his first step-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Mertz.

Funeral and committal services for Dennis C. Mertz are being held privately and at the convenience of the family.
