Dolores J. Bauer

Dolores J. Bauer , 86, of 214 Bayberry Road, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a brief illness.

She was born on June 11, 1930, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Anthony and Barbara Meyer Dietz.

On February 14, 1953 in St. Marys Church, she married Melvin Bauer, who survives.

Mrs. Bauer was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Queen of the World Church, where she had also been a member of the Rosary Altar Society.  She was a great cook who enjoyed going to camp, flowers and gardening.  She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother.  She was a friend to all, always willing to lend a helping hand. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of more than 63 years, Melvin Bauer, she is survived by a son Gary (Kathi Bailey) Bauer of St. Marys, and by a daughter, Dellene, Mrs. Thomas Smith of Weedville.  She is also survived by four grandchildren, Thomas, Brian, Shelley, and Crystal, and by four great -grandchildren.


In addition to her paretns, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Dietz, Edward Wendel and Joe Wendel and by two sisters, Gertrude Dippold and Margaret Schatz.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dolores J. Bauer will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 10:00 AM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, with Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Queen of the World Church.
