Donald Adiel Piccirillo

June 12, 1937 — October 23, 2024

Ridgway

Donald Adiel Piccirillo, 87, of Ridgway, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born on June 12, 1937, in Ridgway, a son of the late Clyde and Catherine Verbeck Piccirillo.

On May 14, 1960, at St. Leo Church, he married Carnith Raspatello, who survives.

Donald was a devoted member of St. Leo's Church and a loyal graduate of St. Leo's School, class of 1955. He proudly served in the military from July 7, 1955, to July 7, 1959, achieving the rank of E-4, Senior Airman. He served as an altar server throughout his school years and was actively involved in various community activities. As a self-employed barber for 57 years, Donald was a familiar face to many in the community. In addition to his great haircuts he provided a homestead for friendship, conversation, and laughter. He spent 30 years umpiring American Legion Baseball games and donated his time to clearing the Sandy Beach Baseball field, showcasing his selflessness and dedication to sports. An avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, Donald enjoyed golfing, hunting, and bowling in his free time. His passion for sports extended to coaching, as he became the varsity basketball coach for St. Leo’s in 1961, following in the footsteps of Danny Martin. However, his ultimate pride was his family, particularly his 4 daughters, whom he cherished dearly.

In addition to his wife of 64 years, he is survived by 3 daughters: Debra (Fabiano) Piccirillo of Fort Washington, MD, Donna Bundy of Ridgway, and Deana (John) Wittman of St. Marys, a son-in-law, Joseph Hribik; 9 grandchildren: Brandon Hribik, Andy Hribik, Abby Wittman, Josh Bundy, Hannah Schlimm (TJ), Garrett Atkins, Zach Bundy, Jordan Bundy, and John Wittman Jr., and 2 great grandchildren on the way. He is also survived by a brother, Joseph Piccirillo and his wife Maxine of Ridgway, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Hribik, a sister, Anne Marie Sette, and a son-in-law, Dan Bundy, III.
