Dora M. Mahoney

Dora M. Mahoney , 90, of Hemlock Road, St. Marys, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Pinecrest Manor following a battle with dementia.

She was born on May 6, 1932, in St. Marys, PA, a daughter of the late Nicola and Michelina DiColantino D'Amore.

On June 19, 1954, at Sacred Heart, she married the late Gerald Mahoney, who preceded her in death on April 7, 1995.

Dora was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and member of Queen of The World Church. She worked as a waitress at several local restaurants for many years. She will be fondly remembered for her faithful and devoted service as a local registrar for more than 20 years. In her free time, Dora enjoyed sewing and going to Bingo. She was a sweet and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her friends and family, often sending them home with "goodies".

She is survived by 4 children; Greg Mahoney and his wife Barb of St. Marys, Shawn Mahoney and his wife Lori of Kersey, Sandra Bahn and her husband Jim of Philadelphia, and Lorena Hamilton of St. Marys, and by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother; Joe D'Amore and his wife Mal of St. Marys, a sister; Theresa Geitner of St. Marys, a sister-in-law; Lois D'Amore of St. Marys, and by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dora was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Carmen D'Amore and Anthony D'Amore, and by a sister in infancy, Emilia D'Amore.

A Memorial Service for Dora M. Mahoney will be celebrated on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael Street, St. Marys, PA, with Fr. Jeffery Noble officiating.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Lynch Green Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Burial will follow at St. Mays Catholic Cemetery.
