Doris M. Tahara, 86, of 225 Parade Street, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh following an illness of the past few days.

She was born September 3, 1924 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Arthur "Stub" and Bertha Tyler Fritz.
On May 25, 1946 in Cresco, PA, she married the late Dr. Charles T. Tahara, who was a noted urologist in the area.  He preceded her in death on November 23, 1966.


Mrs. Tahara graduated from Central High School and then from the St. Vincent School of Nursing.  She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and a former member of the Nurses' Study Club.

Amanda, Matthew, Alex, Rachel, CJ, Hannah and Lily
Brother: Dennis Fritz and his wife Mary Ann, St. Marys

In addition to her parents and her husband, Dr. Charles T. Tahara, she was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur "Boots" Fritz.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5-8 PM.

Funeral Services for Doris M. Tahara will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 North Michael Street, St. Marys, on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., Pastor of Sacred Heart Church, ofi
