Dorothy R. Meyer

Dorothy R. Meyer , 75, of 189 Forestview Road, St. Marys, died peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at her home.

She was born on December 23, 1944, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Weidow Prudich.

In July of 1966 in Sacred Heart Church, she married David Meyer, who survives of St. Marys.

Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Queen of the World Church.  She was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1962.  She retired in 2017 after more than 56 years with the St. Marys Water Authority.
Dorothy spent much of her time volunteering, and enjoyed the friends she made over the years.  She volunteered regularly at Pinecrest, where she was active with the Christmas dinner and enjoyed praying the Rosary every Thursday with her friends there.  Over the years, she also taught Religious Ed classes, helped with Meals on Wheels, and was a hospice volunteer.

In addition to her husband of more than 53 years, David Meyer, she is survived by two sons; David (Jody) Meyer and Scott (Melissa Luchini) Meyer, both of St. Marys, as well as by a grandson; Derek Meyer.  She is also survived by three sisters; Joan Hasselman, Nancy (Harvey) Hanes, and Diane (Carl) Brennan, all of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy R. Meyer will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
