Dorothy M. Minnick

Dorothy M. Minnick , 91, a resident of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, and formerly of Walnut Street, St. Marys died at Elk Regional Health Center on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 following a lengthy illness.

She was born May 14, 1922 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late George and Clara Gahn Minnick.

Dot was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Sacred Heart Church.  She graduated from Central Hign School, class of 1940.  She retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after many years of service.  She was a member of the Oblates of St. Benedict and the C.D. of A.  She also volunteered for many years for St. Emma's retreat in Latrobe.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing cards.

Nephew, Michael Gillen of St. Marys

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Minnick, and a sister, Mary Rose Gillen.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy M. Minnick will be Celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 325 Center Street, St. Marys, on Friday, July 19, 2013  at 10:00 AM with Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., as Celebrant.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Friday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
