Edward Hasselman

Edward L. Hasselman, 65, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 420  Benedict Street, St. Marys, died on Monday evening, November 30, 2015 at Penn Highlands Elk following a lengthy illness.

He was born on January 3, 1950, a son the late Edward J. and Fidelis M. "Dell" Sherry Hasselman.

Ed was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Central High School.  He then graduated from St. Bonaventure with a degree in Philosophy.  He was a member of the St. Marys Church and was a religious person who found courage and solace in his faith.  He helped care for his parents in their older years.  Always in good spirits, Ed rarely complained and enjoyed the company of his caregivers.  He greatly enjoyed and collected music boxes and paper weights.

He is survived by a brother, Roger Hasselman and his wife Pat of Ridgway and by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  He is also survived by his cousin, caregiver and good friend, Cheryl Baumgratz of St. Marys.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Edward L. Hasselman will be celebrated on Friday, December 4, 2015, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, Church Street, St. Marys, with Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pinecrest Manor Activity Fund or to the Community Nurses, Inc.
