Edward "Sonny" Seelye

August 4, 1932 — October 23, 2011

Edward A. "Sonny" Seelye, Jr. , 79, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, and formerly of 1044 S. Michael Road, died on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.

He was born August 4, 1932 in St. Marys, a son of the late Edward and Mary Ann Caskey Seelye.

Mr. Seelye was a member of Queen of the World Church.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He worked at Keystone Carbon Company for more than 47 years.  He enjoyed being outdoors, especially cutting his grass.  He also enjoyed hunting and hiking.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law; Gloria Schneider Seeyle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the Queen Of The World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., as Celebrant.
Military Honors will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
