Elmer G. Goodrow

Elmer G. "Gordy" Goodrow , 69, of 162 Dagus Mines Road, Dagus Mines, died on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a lengthy illness.

He was born on August 27, 1949, in Clearfield, a son of the late Dorsey and Lucille Kendall Goodrow.

On May 18, 1996 in Ridgway, PA, he married Wanda Wonderly Goodrow, who survives of Dagus Mines.

Gordy was a longtime resident of the area and was known for spoiling his two cats.  He greatly enjoyed family fun nights and playing cards with his family.  Most of all, he enjoyed attending family parties and spending time with his family.

Gordy was employed as a Security Guard and also worked for a coal company for a number of years. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was a Sharpshooter. He also received the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

In addition to his wife of more than 22 years, Wanda Wonderly Goodrow, he is survived by two sons, Dorsey "Buddy" Goodrow of Wyoming and Matthew Goodrow of Dagus Mines, by a step-daughter, Amanda Kline and her husband Scott of Dagus Mines, and by two grandchildren, Scotty and Luke Kline.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Betty Wonderly of Kersey, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Robert, and Richard Goodrow, and by his father-in-law, Joseph Wonderly, Sr.

Funeral Services for Elmer G. Goodrow will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Hoover, officiating.
Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Fox Township Burial Detail.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Lung Society or to the American Cancer Society.
