Emma M. Minnick , 99, of 318 John Street, where she resided with her niece, and formerly of 136 Diamond Street, died on Tuesday, April 5, 2011.

She was born August 24, 1911 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Louis and Anna Blessel Lecker.
In September of 1930, in St. Marys Church, she married the late Charles H. Minnick, who preceded her in death on February 1, 1985.

Mrs. Minnick was a lifelong resident of the area.  She attended St. Marys schools and was a member of St. Marys Church.  She retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after more than 33 years of service.  She enjoyed cooking and gardening.  She also cared greatly for her pets and had a passion for writing poetry.  As a testament to her German heritage, she faithfully recited her daily prayers in German.  She was the last member of her immediate family.

Niece: Mildred "Millie" Lecker Kraus, St. Marys, with whom she made her home for the past 6 years
Sister-in-law, Jane Bebble Lecker, with whom she also shared her home
Great Niece: Cynthia, Mrs. Frank Chirillo, Collegeville, PA
Great Niece: Kathleen, Mrs. Lamar Kunes, State College, PA
Great Niece: Laura, Mrs. Kenneth Smith, Wethersi
