Gary R. Himes

Gary R. Himes , 69, of 214 Fairview Road, Kersey, died on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a brief illness.

He was born on January 16, 1949, in Ridgway, a son of the late Richard and Margaret Anginzer Himes.

On May 17, 1969 in St. Boniface Church, he married Linda Quigg Himes, who survives.

Gary was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of SMAHS, class of 1967.  He was a member of St. Boniface Church and retired from Pure Carbon Company after many years of service.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Nascar.  He also enjoyed riding his tractor and 4-wheeler, and traveling in his motorhome with his wife.

In addition to his wife of nearly 49 years, Linda Quigg Himes, he is survived by a daughter, Michelle (Ken) Randall of Sioux Falls, SD, a son, Michael (Anna) Himes of Macungie, PA, and by five grandchildren, Matt and Mason Randall, and Ryan, Molly, and Leela Himes.  He is also survived by one sister, Judy (John) Young of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Randy (Wendy) Young of Kersey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Himes, Jr.

Funeral Services for Gary R. Himes will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Lynch-Green Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
