Genevieve M. Weichman

Genevieve M. Weichman , 95, of 444 W. Mill Street, St. Marys, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Pinecrest Manor following a brief illness.

She was born on February 20, 1919, a daughter of the late Michael and Theresa Gschwendtner Rigard.

On January 29, 1938 in St. Marys Church, she married Charles H. Weichman, who preceded her in death on July 11, 1987.

Gen was a graduate of SMAHS, class of 1936 and a member of St. Marys Church.  She retired from Stackpole after more than 30 years of service.  She had been a member of the Moose and the CYMA.  She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and trips to Salamanca.

She is survived by:
3 sons, Michael Weichman, St. Marys, David (Dorothy) Weichman, St. Marys, Richard (Elaine) Weichman, Du Bois, 2 daughters, Ann Wehler and Jean (David) Becquet, both of St. Marys and by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a brother, Leo "Pickles" Rigard, of St. Marys, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Romaine, Jerome, Francis, Vincent and Edward Rigard, 2 sisters, Iona Laird and Irene Laird, a sister Kathleen, in infancy, and by a son-in-law, James Wehler.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Genevieve M. Weichman will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2014, at 10:00 AM at the St. Marys Church, Church St., St. Marys with Fr. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
