George P. Mallette
, 89, of 160 Upper Cherry Road, Kersey, died on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a lengthy illness.
He was born on October 24, 1932, in Webster, MA a son of the late Joseph and Agnes Riboudo Mallette.
On September 11, 2010, he married Dorothy Zelt Herbstritt Mallette, who survives of Kersey.
George was a member of St. Boniface Church and the Dagus Mines Legion. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In his free time, George enjoyed bowling, golfing, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 step-children; Paula (James) McDonald of NC, Randall (Cathy) Herbstritt of CO, Donna (Bill) Quinlisk of CO, Yvonne (David) Challingsworth of St. Marys and Darlene (Hugh) Daly of St. Marys. He is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Stanton Mallette in 2005 and by two brothers and four sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial for George P. Mallette will be celebrated on
Friday, January 7, 2022, at 10:00 AM
at St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, Pa 15846 with Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Fox Township Burial Detail.
Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Humane Society, Fox Township Fire Department or the Fox Township Ambulance.
