Gerald M. "Gerry" Wolfe , 81, of 349 Benzinger Road, St. Marys, died on Monday, August 22, 2016 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital following a short illness.
He was born on May 31, 1935, in St. Marys, a son of the late Henry and Marguerite Cooney Wolfe.
On February 24, 1968 in Port Allegany, he married Virginia Harrison Wolfe, who preceded him in death in 1991.
Gerry was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Marys Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Mersen and retired after more than 35 years of service He was a member of the Moose and enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and his pets. Most of all, he enjoyed restoring Farmall tracters with his brother
He is survived by a son, Henry Wolfe and a daughter, Catherine Wolfe, both of St. Marys. He is also survived by a brother, Leo Wolfe and his wife Patty of St. Marys, a brother-in-law, Philip Wingard of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers in infancy, Stephen and Eugene, and by two sisters, Gertrude Luke and Phyllis Wingard.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gerald M. Wolfe will be celebrated on Friday, August 26, 2016, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Alfred Patterson, OSB, as celebrant.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 2 - 4 PM and 7 - 9 PM.
