Geraldine A. “Gerry” Geer , 65, of S. Michael Street, St. Marys, died on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Penn Highlands Elk.
She was born on May 27, 1956, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Gerald “Fuzzy” and Dorothy Hnath Lenze.
On October 26, 1985, in Sacred Heart Church, she married Bert Geer, who survives of St. Marys. Together they shared nearly 37 years of love, laughter, and happiness.
Gerry was a lifelong resident of the area and member of Sacred Heart Church. She was a graduate of Elk County Christian High School, class of 1974. She then graduated from Clarion University in 1978, and went on to teach for many years at the Catholic schools, earning the love and respect of many students over the years. Having touched the lives of so many with her kind heart and gentle demeanor, Gerry will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She enjoyed her garden and flowers, but most of all she loved caring for her family, always enjoying spending time with them.
In addition to her husband. Bert Geer, she is survived by three sons; Alexander (Nate) Geer, Matthew (Tiera) Geer, and Jacob Geer, all of St. Marys. She is also survived by three sisters; Mary Kay Lenze of St. Marys, Patty Aaron of Kersey, and Jackie (Jack) Rooker of Kersey, and by one brother; Herman Lenze of St. Marys as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three aunts; Beverlye Lenze, Maizie Feldbauer, and Irene Hnath.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Geraldine “Gerry” Geer will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, 337 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Thomas Curry, OSB, officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received at the Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Community Foundation, 32 S. St. Marys Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.
