Gerard L. “Jerry” Secco , 76, of Bennetts Valley Highway, Weedville, died at his home on Thursday, April 7, 2022 surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness.
He was born on September 20, 1945 in Ridgway, a son of the late Amilcare and Ida Canton Secco.
On July 9, 2005, he married Barbara Donachy, who survives. He was married to the late Linda Smouse Secco, who preceded him in death on July 15, 1984 and then to Lois Heffner Secco who preceded him in death on September 23, 2003.
Jerry was a lifelong resident of the area and graduate of St. Marys High School, class of 1965. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Force. He retired from Pure Carbon Company after more than 50 years of service, retiring in 2013. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, word searches, and golfing. He also enjoyed camping with his family, wife, and friends at Parker Dam, where they spent a lot of time in the summers. He had a passion for music and playing the guitar, which he shared with his son. They also enjoyed playing at church and family events. His heart was always full of love, patience, and songs. all of which he shared unconditionally.
In addition to his wife, Barbara Donachy Secco, he is survived by four children; Athena “Tena” Emmert of St. Marys, Pamela Ingram and her husband Mike of Treasure Lake, Missy Cadori of Weedville, and Gerard Secco, Jr. and his wife Becky of Weedville, by 8 grandchildren; Michelle, Lucia, Isabella, Sophia, Alex, Jared, Augustus, and Mallory. He is also survived by two step-sons; Thomas (Holly) Evcic of Brockway and Daniel Evcic of Brockway, and by a step-granddaughter; McKenna. He is also survived by a brother; John (Marilyn) Secco of Chicago, IL.
In addition to his parents and his first and second wives, he was preceded in death by 7 brothers; Joseph Secco, Romolo “Romey” Secco, LeRoy Secco, Lawrence Secco, Armand Secco, Remo Secco and Arnold “Archie” Secco and by 3 sisters; Rosemond Sidelinger, Barbara Kronenwetter and Mary Secco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846 with Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hahne Cancer Center.
