Gloria A. Bauer

Gloria A. Bauer , 84, of Evers Avenue, St. Marys, died unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

She was born on January 27, 1938, in Allegheny County, a daughter of the late Adolpho “Rudy” and Stella Angelini Ballerini.

On August 17, 1957, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, George C. Bauer.  Together they were blessed with nearly 65 years of love, laughter, and happiness.

Gloria was a member of St. Marys Church was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1955.  She retired from the Daily Press after many years of service.  She was also a member of the Senior Center and enjoyed volunteering in the cafeteria at the catholic schools.

Always enjoying a ride in the car with her husband, she also loved her flowers and trips to Myrtle Beach. A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Gloria enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family.  Her family was the light and love of her life, and she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought much joy to her life.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children; Lori Genevro and her husband Kevin and Frank Bauer and his wife Lisa, both of St. Marys.  She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren; Marcus (Jordan) Genevro, Kevin (Taylor) Genevro, Chiara (James) Frazier, Matthew (Bekah) Bauer and by 5 great-grandchildren; Arabella, Vincenzo, Rocco, Lorenzo and Kennedy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother; William Ballerini, and by a sister; Betty Gatty.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Gloria A. Bauer will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Thomas Curry, OSB officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received at the Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 10:30 AM until the time of the Mass.

Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
