Grace T. Wendel, 93, of 145 Denise Road, St. Marys, died peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Penn Highlands Brookville.
She was born on January 16, 1927, a daughter of the late William and Anna Hoffman Wendel.
Grace was a lifelong resident of the area and member of Queen of the World Church, where she was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She retired from Keystone Carbon Company after more than 46 years of service. Grace was a longtime member of the Polka Boosters and greatly enjoyed polka dancing.
She also enjoyed baking, cooking, and spending time with her family. Grace will be fondly remembered for her spunk, energy, and her unending kindness. She took such delight in spending time with those she loved, and she will be dearly missed by many. She was the last member of her immediate family.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her longtime companion; Joe Hervatin of Kane.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Harold "Fatty" Wendel and his wife Martha, and Maurice "Skinny" Wendel and his wife Vera.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Grace T. Wendel will be celebrated on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating.
Visitation will be held privately .
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Queen of the World Church, Community Nurses, Historical Society, or to the Polka Boosters.
