Harry M. Dodrill

Harry M. Dodrill , 80, of 131 Diamond Street, St. Marys, died on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness.

He was born on February 22, 1936, in St. Marys, a son the late Jurl and Cleo Bennett Dodrill.

On October 15, 1965 in the First United Methodist in Cumberland, MD, he married Jean Quigg Dodrill, who survives.

Harry was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of St. Marys Public High School, class of 1955.  He worked for many years at Pure Carbon Company, later Morgan AM&T.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Reserves from 1958 to 1964.  He was on active duty at Fort Bragg, NC during the 1961-1962 Berlin Crisis.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and also a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family

In addition to his wife of more than 50 years, Jean Quigg Dodrill, he is survived by a daughter, Paula (Dan) Fedorko of Saylorsburg, PA, a son, Keith (Yvonne) Dodrill of Coraopolis, two grandsons, Hunter Dodrill and Jarrett Dodrill, and by a sister, Geraldine Dodrill of St. Marys.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Smith and Audrey Cortina and by one niece, Sharon Smith.

Funeral Services for Harry M. Dodrill will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, N. St. Marys St., St. Marys, PA with Pastor Tim Hoover, officiating.  Interment will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM.


In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Nurses, Inc. or to the Elk County Humane Society.
