Hildegard "Hilda" Walker

Hildegard T. “Hilda” Walker , 86, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Windfall Road, St. Marys, died on Friday, April 29, 2022 following a lengthy illness.

She was born on September 21, 1935, in Berern, Germany, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Lemke Engelberg.

She was married to the late Daniel Walker, who preceded her in death in 1972.

Mrs. Walker was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and retired from Metal Powdered Products after many years of service.  In her free time, she liked to travel.  She also loved gardening, flowers, and tending to her plants.  One of her greatest treasures was her family, and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

She is survived by five children; Theresa Santaniello of Clearfield, Richard Walker of Elbon, Annette Wilson and her husband Mark of St. Marys, Lisa Cormier of Salisbury, MA, and Joseph Walker of St. Marys and by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by two brothers; Peter (Rita) Engelberg of St. Marys and Martin (Judy) Engelberg of Brockway, and by a sister-in-law, Nancy Engelberg of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother; Sigfried Engelberg, by a sister; Gerda Squires, and by her longtime companion, Leo Woodford, who preceded her in death in 2017.

A Funeral Service for Hildegard “Hilda” Walker will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Rev. Erik Hart officiating.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
