James M. "Jim" Beimel , 89, of 820 Shelvey Summit Road, Kersey, died on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at his home following a brief illness.
He was born on April 2, 1932, in St. Marys, a son of the late Maynard J. "Jiggs" and Ruth Williamson Beimel.
On December 2, 1950 in Fall River, MA, he married Beatrice Pereira Beimel, who survives of Kersey. Together they shared more than 71 years of love, laughter, and happiness.
Jim was a lifelong resident of the area and member of St. Boniface Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Owens Brockway Golf Course after many years of dedicated service. One of his greatest passions was golf, a hobby he enjoyed both at work and in his free time. He also enjoyed bowling, but most of all, loved time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of more than 71 years, Beatrice Pereira Beimel, he is survived by one daughter; Janet Beimel of Kersey, by six sons; James Beimel, Jr. and his wife Janice of Delmont, PA, Paul Beimel of Fall River, MA, Daniel Beimel of Kersey, Gregory Beimel of Creighton, Christopher Beimel of Uniontown, and Karl Beimel and his wife Kristen of Ellicott City, MD and by 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers; Carl Beimel, Ronald (Marge) Beimel, Harold (Diana) Beimel, and Roger (Lucy) Beimel, all of Kersey, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law. Betty Ann Beimel and Stephanie Beimel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; Frank, Sylvester, Melvin, and Walter Beimel.
A Mass of Christian Burial for James M. Beimel will be celebrated on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15846 with Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Fox Township Burial Detail.
Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Boniface Church or to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
