James H. Dietz
, 90, of 106 Linwood Avenue, St. Marys, died on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Dubois Nursing Home following a brief illness.
He was born December 11, 1922 in Ridgway, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Pfingstler Dietz.
On June 14, 1947 in St. Mark's Church in Emporium, he married the late Elizabeth J. "Betty" Dietz, who preceded him in death on February 7, 2012.
Mr. Dietz was a graduate of Ridgway High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He retired from Powdered Metal Products and had also worked at Stackpole Carbon Company for many years. He enjoyed go carts and working on stock cars. He was known for his mechanical abilities and he could fix anything. He also enjoyed flying and was an avid air plane enthusiast, having many model air planes and enjoying building and servicing air planes. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons and his granddaughter-in-law.

In addition to his parents and his wife of more than 64 years, Elizabeth J. "Betty" Dietz, he was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Joseph, Carl and Paul Dietz and 3 Sisters: Cecelia Gapinski, Bertha Dietz and Margaret Maiers

. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Weedville.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
