James L. Kraus
, 76, of 443 Walnut Street, St. Marys, died on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at UPMC Altoona following a brief illness.
He was born on October 23, 1940, in St. Marys, a son of the late Norman and Lillian Blanchard Kraus.
On September 11, 1971 in St. Boniface Church, he married Vernetta "Nettie" Kraus, who preceded him in death on May 21, 2008.
Mr. Kraus was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1958. He was a member of St. Marys Church and retired from Keystone Carbon Company after many years of service. He enjoyed walks, Sudoko puzzles, and spending time with his family and grandson.
He is survived by a son, Greg (Mike Fulginiti) Kraus of St. Marys, by a daughter, Dawn Kraus of Byrnedale, and by a grandson, Dustin Kraus of Byrnedale. He is also survived by a sister, Dale (Joseph) Floravit of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth, Earl, Norman "Jack", and Alan Kraus, and by a sister, Marlene Weber.
A Mass of Christian Burial for James L. Kraus will be celebrated on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church with Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
