James E. Morean

November 18, 1924 — March 12, 2013

James Elroy Morean , 88, of Erie Ave, St. Marys, departed the earthly realm on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.  He was born on November 18, 1924, to the late Adelbert and Lina Lockwood Morean, who were from Austin.  He was a member of the 1942 graduating class of Austin.

On May 15, 1948 he married Betty Huston Morean, who survives.  He is also survived by three children: a daughter, Lynn Miller (Brad) of Rochester, 2 sons, James Morean of Austin, and Alan (Cindy) Morean of St. Marys; 4 granddaughters Julie, Abby, Sarah, Shannon, 1 grandson Casey; and 2 great grandchildren, Timothy and Rebekah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Etta and a brother, Harry.

James served in the US Army during WW II.  He worked for forty-two years at Sylvania where he served a four-year apprenticeship for tool and die maker in the machine shop, and later transferred to the machine design department.  He went on to receive a Certificate in Engineering from Scranton College and received many patents for mechanical design.  After retirement, James formed his own company, J & B Specialties, consulting for many area companies including Metal Powder Products, Zippo, and Caldwell.  James served the Austin United Methodist Church as Sunday School Superintendent, Lay Minister and Trustee;  the Austin School Board as treasurer; and a Boy Scout Leader.  A lifetime beekeeper, James continued keeping bees, reading and refining his craft.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Etta and a brother, Harry.

Funeral Services for James E. Morean will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Chris Kindle, Pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment will be in the Newton Cemetery in Emporium.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
