Joan C. Herzing

Joan C. Herzing , 85, of 233 Taft Road, St. Marys, died on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Penn Highlands Elk.

She was born on Sunday, February 12, 1933, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Alfred and Geraldine Kreckel Stebick.

On February 15, 1958 in St. Marys Church, she married Peter A. "Bud" Herzing, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2010.

Joan was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Central High School.  She was a member of St. Marys Church.  Together with her husband, Joan served as an Officer of Elco Sintered Alloys until her retirement.

She is survived by one daughter, Jill McMackin and her husband Shawn of St. Marys, by two sisters, Nadine Facchine and Christine "Teenie" Stebick, both of St. Marys, by one brother, Edward Stebick and his wife Patty of St. Marys, and by two sisters-in-law, Norma Reed and Janet Stebick, both of St. Marys.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa, by three brothers, Alfred Stebick, Jr., Kenneth Stebick, and Leroy Stebick, as well as by one sister, Kathleen "Kay" Eckert.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joan C. Herzing will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Peter Augustine Pierjok, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Community Nurses, Inc. or to the St. Marys Church.
