Joan M. Thompson

Joan M. "Joni" Thompson , 67, of 109 Hemlock Lane, Kersey, died on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 28, 1946 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Sabatini Snyder.

On June 6, 1970 in Dagus Mines, she married Roger Thompson, who survives.

Joni had lived in the area all of her life and had been employed at Elk Regional Health Center as an LPN for more than 15 years.  After surviving cancer in her 40's, she went back to school and received her degree as an LPN in 1993.  She very much enjoyed being a nurse and caregiver.  She also enjoyed animals, cooking and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband of more than 43 years, Roger Thompson, she is survived by:
Son: Michael Thompson and his wife Crystal, Kersey
Son: Eric Thompson and his wife Tracey, Kersey
Son: Jason Thompson, Kersey
Daughter: Jennifer Thompson, Brockway
5   Grandchildren-Harley, Cassandra, Vincent, Ethan and Sarah
Brother: Joseph Snyder, Jr. and his wife Susan, Ridgway
Sister: Patricia, Mrs. Tony Mancuso, St. Marys

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Scotty Thompson in 1972.

There will be No Visitation.

A Memorial Service is being scheduled and will be announced at a later date.
