Joann L. Shuttleworth

Joann L. Shuttleworth , 86, of Fern Road, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Pinecrest Manor.

She was born on September 15, 1936, in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sara Mohr Hoffman.

On February 11, 1956, she married the late Robert L. Shuttleworth, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2019.

Joann was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and graduate of Central High School, class of 1954. She was a member of Queen of the World Church, where she was also a member of the Rosary Alter Society.  She worked at Pure Carbon, retiring after 42 years of service. Joann enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and canning. She had a love for cooking and was always delighted to host family parties.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Diane Wendel and Christine Cheatle, both of St. Marys, 2 sons; Thomas Shuttleworth and his wife Diane and David Shuttleworth and his wife Debbie, both of St. Marys, as well as by 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 8 step great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 4 siblings; James Hoffman, Alberta Hoffman, Loretta Detsch, and Mary Ann Bobenreith, and by her son- in-law; Gary Cheatle.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joann L. Shuttleworth will be celebrated on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Queen of The World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857, with Fr. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Lynch Green Funeral Home on Sunday, May 14, 2023, from 5:00PM until 8:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Penn Highlands Community Nurses Hospice or to Queen of the  World Church.
