John J. Irwin, 89, of 959 Hickory Road, St. Marys, died at Pinecrest Manor on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 following a brief illness
He was born June 23, 1922 in Empire, CA, a son of the late William and Cecelia Cummings Irwin.
In 1970 at St. Catherine's Church in Martinas, CA, he married Ruth Schlimm Irwin, who survives.
Mr. Irwin was a member of the Queen of the World Church. He served in the US Army during WWII. He worked at Shell Oil Company in Martinas, CA, for many years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street, St. Marys, on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Michael Ferrick, as Celebrant.

A Military Service will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 AM
