John L. Lindenmuth, Sr.

John L. "Lindy" Lindenmuth, Sr. , 86, of 245 Chestnut Street, St. Marys, died on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a lengthy illness.

He was born on May 17, 1931, in Shawmut, PA, a son of the late Edward and Frances Johnson Lindenmuth.

On December 22, 1951 in St. Marys, he married C. Joyce Byrd Lindenmuth, who preceded him in death on September 10, 2004.

John was a lifelong resident of the area and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  He retired from Stackpole after more than 35 years of service.  He was a past member of the PFL and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed woodworking and his beloved dog, Mitzey.

He is survived by a daughter, Margie Palmer of St. Marys, by two sons, John Lindenmuth, Jr. of Bradford and Daniel (Susan) Lindenmuth of St. Marys, by four grandchildren, Richard Lindenmuth, Jr., Charles Lindenmuth, Joshua Lindenmuth and Amanda Lindenmuth, as well as by two great-granddaughters. He is also survived by two sisters, Lucille Fulmer of Baldwin Park, CA, and Dolores (Fred) Lenze of Ridgway.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard "Rick" Lindenmuth, by twin grandsons, and by a brother, Jerome Lindenmuth.

A Memorial Service for John L. Lindenmuth, Sr. will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in St Marys Protestant Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
