John C. Pistner , 61, of 642 S. Michael Road, St. Marys, died on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a brief illness.
He was born on May 4, 1955, in St. Marys, a son of the late John K. and Dorothy Hoffman Pistner.
On July 2, 1983 in Queen of the World Church, he married Brenda Hoffman Pistner, who survives.
John was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of ECCHS. He then graduated from Gannon University. He was employed by Stackpole Carbon Company for a number of years and then retired from the U.S. Post Office after many years of service. He was a member of Queen of the World Church. Being an avid bowler. he was also a member of the 700 Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of more than 33 years, Brenda Hoffman Pistner, he is survived by a daughter, Jessie (Daniel) Williams of Montoursville, two sons, Joseph (Teresa) Pistner and John M. Pistner, both of St. Marys and by three grandchildren, Colton, Jordan and Aliyah. He is also survived by a brother, Andrew (Lesa) Pistner of Reynoldsville,
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial for John C. Pistner will be celebrated on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at 12:00 PM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA, with Rev. Richard Allen, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Queen of the World Church.
