John F. "Jack" Ritter

John F. "Jack" Ritter , 80, of 125 Mark Street, St. Marys, died on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.

He was born July 23, 1931 in St. Marys, a son of the late Thomas and Agnes Lynch Ritter.

On February 24, 1962 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, he married Joan Gapinski Ritter, who survives.

Mr. Ritter was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Sacred Heart Church.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries he received during the war.  He was employed at the former Pure Carbon for more than 40 years and was a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed hunting, i
