John Struble, Sr

John J. "Jack" Struble, Sr. , 80, a resident of Sena-Kean Manor in Smethport, and formerly of St. Marys and Smethport, died on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Sena-Kean Manor following a lengthy illness.

He was born on August 29, 1934, a son of the late William and Viola Valentine Struble.

He married Lois Hollamby Struble in June of 1966, she preceded him in death on February 25, 1999.  He then married Nancy Beyer Struble, who survives.

Jack was Catholic by faith and had attended Sacred Heart Church.  He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and was known for his turkey hunting skills.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman who especially enjoyed trout fishing.  He was also a skilled fur trapper.  He had a fondness for John Wayne and Johnny Cash, and his other hobbies included gardening and making venison sausage.

He is survived by seven children:

In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Struble, 2 grandchildren, Shawn Corwin and Kelli Corwin, 6 brothers, Robert, Raymond, Donald, Francis, Walter and Howard Struble and by 3 sisters, Sue Bucher, Mary Schneider and Betty Schneider.

Funeral Services for John J. Struble, Sr. will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.

Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk Visitors Center in Benezette.
