John J. Young

John J. Young , 58, of 405 Lang Road, St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Penn Highlands Elk.

He was born on September 21, 1956, a son of the late Paul and Alice Uhl Young.

On May 5, 1979 in St. Marys Church, he married Patricia Salter Young, who survives.

John was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of SMAHS, class of 1975.  He was employed by Hunt Oil for many years.  John will be remembered as a 'jack of all trades', he had many talents and enjoyed building things.  He enjoyed 4-wheeling, cars and was very fond of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd.  Most of all, he enjoyed his dogs and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife nearly 36 years, Patricia Salter Young, he is survived by 2 sons, Joshua Young and Jared (Samantha Stahr) Young, both of St. Marys, a brother, Paul (Rosie) Young of St. Marys, 2 sisters, June (Harry) Gardner of Ridgway and Michele (Ken) Heilburn of Brockway, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin daughters at birth, Jessica and Jennifer Young.

A Mass of Christian Burial for John J. Young will be celebrated on Friday, January 30, 2015, at 12:00 PM at the St. Marys Church, Church Street, St. Marys with Rev. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Humane Society.
