Joseph G. Resch
, 78, of 1403 Million Dollar Highway, Kersey, died on Thursday evening, January 28, 2016 at Penn Highlands Elk following a lengthy illness.
He was born on December 6, 1937, in St. Marys, a son of the late Joseph and Martha Raffeinner Resch.
On October 10, 1959 in St. Marys Church, he married Margaret Kofler Resch, who survives.
Joe was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Boniface Church. He retired from Keystone Carbon Company after more than 47 years of service. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and going to camp. He especially enjoyed helping his daughter at The Corner Restaurant, as well as the friendships he formed while working there. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of more than 56 years, he is survived by two daughters, Joanne (Denis) Dinsmore of St. Marys and Martha (Joseph) Cavallett of Kersey, two sons, Joseph (Shelly) Resch and Thomas Resch, both of Kersey, as well as by four grandchildren, Jen Cavallett, Suzy (Justin) Ehrensberger, Holly (Chris Kreckel) Buerk, Tony Resch and by one great-grandson, Caleb Ehrensberger.
He is also survived by two brothers, Donald (Dolores) Resch of Kersey, Glenn (Janet) Resch of St. Marys, and by a sister, Donna Cribbs of Kersey, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Wennin.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph G. Resch will be celebrated on Monday, February 1, 2016, at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Church. Main Street, Kersey with Fr. Ross Miceli, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
