Judy A. Thorwart

Judy A. Thorwart , 74, of 335 Main Street, Kersey, died at her home on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 surrounded by her family following a short illness.

She was born on October 11, 1939, a daughter of the late Daniel and Edith Newquist Corbe.

On May 6, 1961 in St. Boniface Church, she married Lee Thorwart, who survives.

Mrs. Thorwart was a member of St. Boniface Church and graduated from Kersey High School, class of 1957.  She retired from Murphy's after many years of service.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting and watching movies.  She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her house plants.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially watching their baseball and softball games.

In addition to her beloved husband of more than 53 years, Lee Thorwart, she is survived by her 2 daughters, Chris, Mrs. Andrew Meyer and Tracy, Mrs. John Cesa both of Kersey, as well as 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Judy A. Thorwart will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Church, Main Street, Kersey, PA  with Fr. Ross Micelli officiating.
Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday evening, September 12, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Community Nurses Hospice or to the American Cancer Society.
