Laura E. LaBenne , 84, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of Elk Towers, passed away peacefully at Pinecrest Manor on Thursday, February 27, 2025 following a lengthy illness.

She was born on January 4, 1941 in Ridgway, PA, a daughter of the Millard and Delia Plyler Haight.

Laura was Methodist by faith and worked at Cook's Restaurant for a number of years, and also worked at various other restaurants in the area throughout the years. Known for her wit and carefree demeanor, Laura could always bring a smile to the faces of those around her and enjoyed making people laugh. When she wasn't crafting, she could be found watching the birds from her porch, always enjoying the quiet calm of nature. One of her favorite pastimes was making Easter eggs to share with her family. She also enjoyed the companionship of her beloved dog, Foxy. Her most cherished and prized possession was her family, and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three children; Robert Snyder of Kersey, David Snyder of Ridgway, and Marilynn Wells and her husband John of Duke Center; by her seven beloved grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by one sister; Janice (Rudy) Haller as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her son; Martin Snyder, a grandson; Zackery Snyder, her daughter-in-law; Diane Synder, and by a brother; LaRue Haight.

A Celebration of Life for Laura E. LaBenne is being scheduled and will be announced at a later date.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Humane Society.
